About Us

In 1990 our 3 original directors Paul Lambert, Steve Wright and Brian Jackson decided to take a massive risk during one of the worst recessions in recent history and decided to leave their current employment and start JWL. With over 60 years experience between them and a loyal bunch of customers they managed to ride out the recession and grow a successful business from scratch, one that has now passed on to the next generation and continues to grow and develop into a nationwide supplier of all your ironmongery and building supplies needs.

After the retirement of the original 3 directors the baton was passed to the son of Paul Lambert. Colin Lambert had worked at JWL since leaving college in 1992 working his way up from working in the warehouse to now running the company, and alongside his wife Hilary in accounts and his oldest son Daniel who runs and develops the website side of the business the company has continued to grow at a rapid rate. Colin's youngest son Jack can also be found helping out on days when he is not at University and loyal dogs Lacey & Millie the Cockapoo's can be found causing havoc in the offices to complete the "FAMILY BUSINESS"

With the help of our loyal team of employees we continue to grow and have gained the excellent reputation of being leaders in the industry and our company name is synonymous with the highest quality products and our customer care which is second to none and something we are proud of. 


We are a specialist Architectural Ironmongers who also have extensive dealing in fixings and fasteners, security products, power tools and all general hardware items. We are known for sourcing items which are generally hard to find and we leave no stone uncovered in the search for these items to help our customers. If it can be found we generally find it.
